Bernadette Resha is a painter. Her art is vibrant, full of color and expression.
Since 2008, Alexander’s Angels has hosted a semi-annual “DOWNRightArt Exhibit.” Bernadette’s beautiful paintings have been a part of this great event each of the seven years it has been held since its inception.
The event takes place in different venues and this year it opened in March to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. You can see the exhibit at the Castello di Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue, NY until April 22nd.
“DOWNRightART illustrates how individuals with Down syndrome have used their strengths and talents to produce a serious body of artwork while overcoming physical and cognitive difficulties. By highlighting the contribution that individuals with Down syndrome have made and can make to society, the exhibition also partially fulfills Alexander’s Angels mission.
DOWNRightART shows the value of the arts as a means of self-expression and communication, as well as the impact art can have in the lives of all people. The work of the thirty artists included in this exhibition shows their deep appreciation of the beauty in nature, as well as their inner conflicts, fears, and hopes.” (From the statement pictured above.)
