What a great idea for a book!  The Down Syndrome Diary is an example of the resourcefulness of the Ds community.  One of the best ways we help each other is to share our stories.

From the Foreword:

“The project was born when I decided I wanted to share my diary. I found my peace with Benny’s diagnosis when I found my now dear friend Tara’s blog, Happy Soul Project. Learning about her daughter, Pip, made me see Down syndrome from the view of a parent instead of a doctor. Reading Tara’s words gave me peace, and healing, so it only seemed fitting to ask her to write in it after me.

The rest was history.”

The collection gathers stories from 26 families over the course of seven years.  What a great way to be introduced to “the club” of Ds parenting!
