While we’re having fun with videos this month we should also look at ways we can educate ourselves using YouTube. Choosing “bite sized” videos about subjects that interest us can be educational AND fun.

For example, we can learn about history and civil rights.

Unita Zelma Blackwell (March 18, 1933 – May 13, 2019) was an American civil rights activist who was the first African American woman to be elected mayor in the U.S. state of Mississippi.

There are so many videos available.  You can choose the difficulty level to match your interest.

For example, this one from Kids Academy.

And this one from Black History in Two Minutes

How are civil rights and the activists who work for them still important today?

Take a look around for more great videos about important moments in history.
