Today’s film is a difficult watch. It touches on an aspect of our past and present that we don’t talk about much – what happens when elderly parent caregivers get sick and there is no plan in place for their adult children.

Director Kim Spurlock created this piece as her NYU Graduate Thesis Film.  It won numerous awards which can be seen on the film’s website: http://www.downinnumber5.com/

Christopher Devlin plays Sammy in the film.

This film reminds us that we, as a community, need to do a better job making sure to reach out to members of our community who may not have the supports they need and we all need to make sure we have plans in place for our loved ones in case something happens to us.
